Hecmcounselor.com started out as a HUD-approved HECM counseling agency.
In order to make a name for ourselves, we started a website and in May of 2009, began to build an email list of reverse mortgage originators (RMOs), sending them emails twice-a-week, focusing on issues regarding production. Our email quickly caught on, and now we have a list of over 2,400 users that actively open our emails and then click-through.
Hecmcounselor.com is the leading website for Reverse Mortgage Originators (RMOs) and Processors. Through hecmcounselor.com, RMOs are provided with free access to a web workshop that contains all the tools they’ll ever need. It is organized, simple to use and a valued resource.
There are three things we do that make hecmcounselor.com unique:
• We only target reverse mortgage producers. Not every story about reverse mortgages appears on our website or emails. The reason is if it isn’t relevant to production, then it’s not appropriate for our audience. We understand production is the core of the reverse mortgage business.
• We are an unparalleled resource for reverse mortgage producers. We pride our website as being a “tools” source, not simply a “news” source. hecmcounselor.com is a cyber-workshop for RMOs to work and learn. It has forms, links, booklets, calculator, research, presentations and other tools to help RMOs in their work. Open and free of charge!
• We actively grow our user list. We contact reverse mortgage branches to introduce them to our resource-based website and to ask them to have their producers (loan originators and processors) to join our user list. We also leverage our HECM counseling background to get producers to sign up. Finally, we scrub our user list weekly of bad email addresses and thus have a very low bounce rate.
